Ufomba’s Undiluted Truth on Governor Otti and 2027 Today, Ochiagha Reagan Ufomba, an Abia-born prominent businessman and politician, offered a clear and honest view on the leadership of Governor Alex Chioma Otti and the road to 2027. According to him, when a team is performing well, it should be allowed to continue its work without disruption. His position is based on what many can already see. In less than three years, Governor Otti has demonstrated strong leadership, careful planning, and a clear sense of direction. His style of governance is organised, reform-focused, and driven by results. This has, no doubt,…

Q1 FISCAL MISCHIEF EXPOSED: WHY ORIAKU’S “DATA” IS A POLITICAL TRAP, NOT SERIOUS ANALYSIS Obinna Oriaku’s latest write-up sounds technical, but it is built on a familiar trick: mix separate revenue streams, stretch interpretations, create alarm, then call it transparency advocacy. That is not fiscal analysis; it is political arithmetic dressed in reform language. First, the claim that the Q1 report was “late” must be handled carefully. Under fiscal transparency frameworks, quarterly budget implementation reports are generally expected within a defined post-quarter window, commonly 30 days after the quarter ends. Yes, timeliness matters. But even if a report comes slightly…

ABIA DEBT CONTROVERSY: WHEN EXCHANGE RATE IS DRESSED UP AS SCANDAL Let us be honest: this argument is trying to mix debt repayment, external debt stock, exchange-rate depreciation, and gratuity arrears into one pot of confusion. The DMO figure does not support the claim that Abia State has been lying. It supports the fact that Abia’s domestic debt has crashed heavily under Governor Alex Otti.As at June 30, 2023, Abia’s domestic debt stood at ₦142.47 billion. By December 31, 2025, the same DMO placed Abia’s domestic debt at ₦48.41 billion. That is a reduction of about ₦94.06 billion in domestic debt.…

EXTERNAL DEBT MISCHIEF EXPOSED: WHY ABIA IS NOT THE SCANDAL THEY WANT YOU TO BELIEVE The Obinna Oriaku geng’s trick is simple: throw a national headline — “States’ external debt rose to $5.7bn” — then quietly insert Abia into the noise as if Abia is one of the reckless borrowers. That is clever mischief. The real data says something different: Abia’s external debt rose by only $5.69m, representing a modest 5.61% increase, while several states recorded far heavier increases. The PUNCH/ABN report itself admits this. https://punchng.com/states-fct-external-debt-nears-1bn-amid-higher-faac/ https://abntv.com.ng/news/states-fct-external-debt-sums-up-to-5-7bn-despite-higher-faac-disbursements/ Compare the figures. Katsina rose by $100.16m. Niger rose by $73.38m. Kogi rose…

PENSION PROPAGANDA EXPOSED: WHY THIS ATTACK ON OTTI IS CLEVER MISCHIEF, NOT HONEST ADVOCACY The Otti Critic’s article sounds compassionate on the surface, but its structure is politically mischievous because it tells only the emotional half of the story and hides the reform half. A fair article on Abia pensions must admit one obvious truth: Governor Alex Otti inherited a pension and gratuity crisis built over many years, not a clean table. To write as if the entire burden began with him is not analysis; it is selective outrage. The first proof of mischief is that the article speaks broadly about…

PUBLIC SERVICE IS NOT AN ATM: THE OTTI MODEL OF LEAN, DISCIPLINED GOVERNANCE In a political culture where public office is too often treated as a gateway to luxury, entitlement, and waste, Governor Alex Otti’s decision to use scheduled commercial flights instead of chartered private jets sends a message far beyond the cost of air travel. It speaks to a governing philosophy: public funds must serve the public, not the comfort of public officials. This is why the conversation around Otti’s fiscal prudence matters. It is not merely about whether a governor flew commercial or private. It is about the moral…

Evaluating Otti’s Leadership Roles in Repositioning the Labour Party By Ebere Uzoukwa, PhD The recent resurgence of the Labour Party reflects deliberate leadership, strategic clarity and timely intervention, with Governor Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, at the centre of this unfolding transformation. What may seem like a rapid recovery is, in fact, the outcome of calculated decisions taken at a critical moment to restore order, credibility and direction within the party. At a time when internal disputes and leadership tussles threatened to erode the credibility and cohesion of the Labour Party, Governor Otti stepped into a stabilising role, providing clarity of…

BEYOND TEARS AND PROPAGANDA — THE TRUTH ABOUT ABIA’S DIRECTORS’ RETIREMENT POLICY The recent emotional story about “78 directors prematurely sacked by Otti” deserves sympathy where genuine human hardship exists, but sympathy must not be confused with truth. Public policy is not judged by anonymous lamentation alone; it is judged by law, records, timelines, and context. The central fact is that the Abia State Government implemented an 8-year tenure policy for Directors and Permanent Secretaries, a policy publicly reported in 2023 as part of efforts to reinvigorate the civil service and create room for career progression. This was not presented…
