BENDE DESERVES FACTS, NOT PROPAGANDA

The claim that the Labour Party administration has done “nothing tangible” in Bende Local Government Area is not constructive criticism. It is a sweeping political statement that ignores visible interventions and attempts to replace facts with emotion.

The government welcomes scrutiny. Every citizen has the right to ask questions about public funds, projects and service delivery. However, accountability must be pursued with accurate figures, proper context and verifiable evidence—not sensational estimates presented as established facts.

The assertion that Bende has received “close to ₦20 billion” must be supported by a clear breakdown. What period does the figure cover? Does it represent gross statutory allocation, deductions, intervention funds or money directly available for projects? Public finance cannot be honestly explained through an isolated figure stripped of its statutory obligations and expenditure responsibilities.

It is also misleading to compare the responsibilities of a legislator with those of a state or local government. A legislator may facilitate constituency projects through federal agencies, while government must simultaneously fund roads, healthcare, education, salaries, sanitation, security support and other essential services. These are different constitutional responsibilities and should not be deliberately confused for political advantage.

Bende people deserve a debate based on evidence. Let every alleged project be identified. Let every government intervention be inspected. Let every financial claim be documented. Governance should be judged through verifiable records—not hashtags, exaggeration or partisan propaganda.

The administration remains committed to transparency, accountability and equitable development across Bende and every part of Abia State. Criticism will always be welcomed, but deliberate falsehood will be corrected firmly with facts.

Free speech is welcome. Falsehood is not.

Bende deserves facts—not propaganda.
