APC Cannot Win Even Nnewi North LGA Come 2025 Governorship Election In Anambra – APGA Tells APC, Others
Tensions rise in Anambra State as political parties jostle for influence ahead of the 2025 governorship election, with the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) firing a salvo at Senator Ifeanyi Ubah and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a swift rebuttal, APGA spokesperson Tony Olisa-Mbeki dismissed Ubah’s assertion that he could deliver the state to the APC, affirming APGA’s stronghold in the region.
According to reports from PUNCH, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, representing Anambra South Senatorial District, had advocated for Anambra’s alignment with the national political sphere during a distribution of palliatives to his constituents.
Ubah, espousing his allegiance to the APC, emphasized the need for Anambra to tap into national politics to expedite development.
Olisa-Mbeki emphasized that the Anambra electorate does not align with the APC and challenged the notion that Ubah could sway the state’s political landscape in favor of the opposition party.
He pointed to APGA’s track record of governance under leaders like Peter Obi, Willie Obiano, and the incumbent, Charles Soludo, as evidence of the party’s commitment to development and progress in the state.
Olisa-Mbeki highlighted Soludo’s achievements in infrastructure, education, and overall governance as emblematic of APGA’s dedication to uplifting Anambra.
He stated, “Anambra is making progress under APGA. Right from the time of Peter Obi to Willie Obiano and now to Soludo, everybody can see the development. Then you ask, is Anambra State not doing better than Imo State which is connected to the centre in terms of security and everything?“
He dismissed APC’s influence in the state, labeling it as non-existent and propagandist in nature.
Olisa-Mbeki reaffirmed APGA’s confidence in retaining power in the upcoming election, expressing optimism in the fairness and transparency of the electoral process.
“APGA is not jittery, we are solidly on the ground. Let me tell you one thing, APC cannot win even in Nnewi North LGA come 2025 governorship election in Anambra, forget all the noise they are making,” he added.
