WHY WE SUPPORT DR. ALEX OTTI
Governor Alex Otti represents a new kind of leadership in Abia State: courageous, principled, focused and people-centred. His administration is driven by a clear vision to rebuild the state, restore public confidence and create a stronger foundation for sustainable development.
On the question of political endorsements ahead of 2027, Governor Otti has made it clear that no single governor has the authority to speak for the entire South-East. His position is not an attack on regional unity. Rather, it is a defence of fairness, consultation and the collective voice of the people. He has shown that leadership must be guided by principle, not political pressure.
Governor Otti has also demonstrated that responsible leadership must protect the integrity and stability of Abia State. The ₦5 billion lawsuit filed against an APC spokesman should be viewed within the context of the government’s determination to challenge damaging allegations and resist deliberate attempts to create tension, confusion or instability. A responsible government cannot remain silent when false claims threaten public peace and institutional credibility.
Beyond political debates, the evidence of transformation across Abia is becoming increasingly visible. The administration is not merely repainting or rebranding old projects. It is rehabilitating roads, rebuilding schools, revitalising hospitals and developing new infrastructure designed to support long-term economic growth.
Projects such as the Abia Airport, innovation and technology initiatives, smart schools, healthcare revitalisation programmes and industrial development zones demonstrate a broader development agenda. The objective is not simply to maintain the Abia of yesterday, but to build the Abia of tomorrow.
Governor Otti’s leadership is also founded on transparency, prudent management and measurable performance. His insistence on facts, data and accountability reflects his belief that governance must be evaluated by results rather than propaganda. His communication style may sometimes be firm, but his commitment to performance and public accountability remains clear.
Constructive criticism is necessary in every democracy, but criticism must be based on truth and fairness. Political sensationalism, misinformation and deliberate distortion do not serve the interest of Abia people. The administration should be judged by the roads being rebuilt, the schools being improved, the hospitals being restored and the investments being attracted.
The Otti administration remains committed to restoring infrastructure, growing the economy, supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, creating jobs, improving education, strengthening healthcare and ensuring the prudent use of public resources.
Abia is witnessing a government that is focused on service, development and institutional renewal. The journey is still ongoing, but the direction is clear and the progress is visible.
