2027: IKENNA UKWA PICKS APC NOMINATION FORM FOR AROCHUKWU/OHAFIA FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY

Frontline aspirant and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief Ikenna Nicolas Ukwa, has formally purchased the Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms of the party to contest the Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives.

Speaking to journalists shortly after obtaining the forms, Hon Ikenna Nicolas Ukwa said his decision to contest was borne out of a desire to offer purposeful and efficient representation and attract more federal presence in Arochukwu/Ohafia federal Constituency. He described his aspiration as “a mission to change the leadership narrative and usher in a new era of inclusive development” for the people of Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency.

“I am not a stranger to our people. I have lived with them, shared in their challenges, and intervened where necessary. Today, I am taking this bold step because I believe our federal constituency deserves better, and I am prepared to provide that quality representation,” he stated.

Chief Ikenna Ukwa who took time to list several interventions undertaken through the Ikenna & Jenn Ukwa Foundation noted that the initiatives were executed without holding any elected office. They include:

  • Education Support: Payment of school fees and WAEC/NECO registration for indigent students, distribution of educational materials to primary and secondary schools across Ohafia LGAs.
  • Health Interventions: Free medical outreaches benefiting over 5,000 constituents and beyond, since the inception of his foundation, support for persons with medical emergencies.
  • Youth and Women Empowerment: provision of start-up grants and equipment to women traders and small-scale entrepreneurs.
  • Agricultural Support: Distribution of improved seedlings, fertilizers, and agro-inputs to farmers across the federal Constituency.
  • Sports Development: Sponsorship of community football tournaments, donation of sporting kits to youth clubs, and promotion of grassroots sports as a tool for engagement.
  • Infrastructure and Amenities: Construction female hostels in FGC Ohafia, installation of over 5000 solar-powered streetlights across the federal Constituency, and support for community development.

*Humanitarian Services: Cash and material support to widows, orphans, and persons with disabilities; emergency relief to victims of natural disasters, among others.

He also noted that he has remained a loyal and committed member of the APC who has consistently invested in party growth at the ward, LGA, and state levels through continuous financial and logistical support for party activities and meetings across Arochukwu and Ohafia LGAs, donation of a furnished office complex for the the party in the wards and LGA and the City Boy Movement, Ohafia LGA Chapter, to serve as a hub for party activities.

Chief Ikenna Ukwa maintained that he remains the most prepared and acceptable aspirant to fly the APC flag in the constituency, adding that he has the resources and grassroot supports to win election and the ruling party in the federal Constituency.

He, therefore, challenged other aspirants who are vying for the same position to reel out their impacts and achievements to their people and to the party, as leadership is measured through selfless service to the people.

“My works speak for me. Even without a budget or government office, we have touched lives across every clan. With a mandate, we will do more. I will bring energy, innovation, and the right network to attract federal presence to our constituency. I have built and supported this party. I believe in party supremacy and I will not abandon our structures after election,” he stated.

He called on delegates and stakeholders of the APC to reward competence, loyalty. “Give me the ticket, and together we will secure victory for the APC in 2027. Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency will not regret it,” he added.
