Born on 9th April 1984, Engr. Ikechukwu Lekwachi Emetu, FNSE hails from Amaekpu Ohafia, Ohafia local government area of Abia State.
He attended Obalodon Montessori Nursery & Primary School, Lagos. He proceeded to Government Collage, Ketu Epe, Lagos State where he obtained his West Africa Examination Council Certificate. He advanced his education and was admitted into the prestigious Federal University of Technology Owerri, Imo State where he obtained his B.Eng, in Petroleum engineering in 2009. He has further received academic and professional training from major institutions around the world.
As a young graduate beaming with enthusiasm and passion for excellence, his working career began in 2010 during his National Youth Service Corps program, when he served in Nigerian Westminster Dredging and Marine Ltd. Merogun Warri Delta State Nigeria. His dedication to work and team spirit in the Company earned him the Position of Operations Engineer.
Engineer Ikechukwu has worked in reputable Organizations like Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) as a Production Operator, Where he was in charge of data collection on Process Transmitting Lines for Crude Stabilization & gas dehydration, HP Compressor, Glycol and gas unite, Flash gas and Chemical Injection Unit among others.
Engr. Ikechukwu Lekwachi Emetu, FNSE is a philanthropist of note, his empathy and concern for the less privileged led to the formation of his foundation, Make Ohafia Great Again (MOGA FOUNDATION) now IKEABIA FOUNDATION. A humanitarian Organization whose programs and charitable activities have touched thousands of lives across Abia State. A man with high moral values, supporting worthwhile causes and willing to act on his belief to help others develop and strengthen their own values. He is ethically grounded and demonstrates honesty with confidence at all times. His show of respect for others is unreserved. A master of selflessness and a democratic, unprejudiced view of those different from himself, he rather inspire others with an upbeat, optimistic outlook on life. He demonstrates his commitment to a desired goal and is willing to invest the necessary time and effort to achieve success. He always sees a bright side in difficult situations and can find creative solutions to their problems.
Little wonder, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR saw in him the rare traits of hardwork wedded to humility and veracity expressing a young man who doesn’t give up easily but persevere when confronted by obstacles. His passion to succeed is an inspiration to the younger generation to follow through, surmount obstacles and reach the goals they set for themselves. Therefore, Governor Otti’s choice of Engr Ikechukwu Lekwachi Emetu, FNSE as his deputy has rooted attributes matching his desire to have a supporting hand to make Abia State great again.
Today, we come together in a jubilant celebration to honour four incredible decades marked by growth, adorned with sophistication, gratitude, and the promise of even more extraordinary years ahead.
