THE TRAGEDY THAT HAS BEFALLEN OUR COUNTRY….

We are at a stage in our Country where we have become immune to bad news.

Evil deeds have become so entrenched & deeply rooted that most Nigerians wake up at sunrise with gloomy faces, and end up getting more scary at sunset as more disturbing events keep unfolding.

All Breaking News predictably tilts towards disasters: We wake up everyday with screaming & disturbing Headlines such as:

OVER 200 SCHOOL CHILDREN ADOPTED IN
ZAMFARA.

268 KIDNAPPED IN IDP CAMP BY INSURGENTS IN KADUNA

OFFICERS AND MEN OF THE NIGERIAN ARMY MURDERED IN DELTA.

HERDSMEN KILL 50 VILLAGERS IN BENUE COMMUNITY

ALL PASSENGERS ON TRANSIT FROM ENUGU TO ABUJA KIDNAPPED IN KOGI. etc

According to Thomas Hobbes, The 16th century Philosopher “The natural state of humanity is violent and brutal” This aptly describes the situation in our Country presently.

Just a couple of days ago, 16 soldiers were gruesomely slaughtered in Delta State with the bodies of some of them completely decapitated.

In most parts of the North, it has become a routine & daily occurrence reading about disasters of monumental proportions. People are kidnapped or adopted on a daily basis, while many others are slaughtered.

Many parts of Plateau & Benue States have become killing fields. Hardly a day passes without some heart wrenching & heart breaking News.

Kidnapping & Terrorism have shown the extent evil people can go in displaying brutality, wickedness and oppression.

One begins to wonder how Terrorists move hundreds of their victims in an open savannah grasslands for days without being accosted or traced by security operatives.
Are the kidnappers invincible?

It won’t be out of place to say that some “powerful” individuals are in bed with these Terrorists.

Is it possible that the government in all honesty is unable to locate the hide out of these Terrorists? Apparently, it’s a question that is bugging the minds of every concerned Nigerian.

Curiously, foreign journalists have access to these Terrorists. Strangely, they willingly grant interviews on Camera to these foreigners.

Nigerians often wonder what the government does with the numerous security information at their disposal concerning these Terrorists.

One would sometimes wonder if the government is not culpable going by their body language.

For us to fight terrorism, we need to display uncommon commitments.

When we remain resolute, no matter how long it takes, the evil called terrorism shall ultimately be defeated.

Our Government should emphasize stringent measures to protect its citizenry from harm.

Nowhere seems safe anymore.
