The inauguration ceremony of Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State for his second term in office was graced by prominent figures such as President Bola Tinubu and ex-president Olusegun Obasanjo.

According to Channels TV, President Tinubu, who had previously attended a function in Abuja commemorating the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day, arrived at Owerri’s Sam Mbakwe Airport around 1 p.m. on Monday.

Accompanied by government officials, he received a warm welcome from Governor Uzodimma and other leaders of Imo State. Among the distinguished guests was ex-president Obasanjo, who was seen at the Dan Anyiam Stadium along with other dignitaries.

The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, were also in attendance. It is worth noting that the deputy of Anambra Governor Charles Soludo, Onyekachi Ibezim, represented him at the event.

Despite the sit-at-home order in the southeast region, the residents of Imo State defied it and turned up in large numbers for the swearing-in ceremony. Draped in vibrant attire, they proudly marched through the streets towards Dan Anyiam Stadium.

This momentous occasion occurred approximately two months after Governor Uzodimma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) secured his second term in office, triumphing over his closest opponents, Athan Achonu of the Labour Party (LP) and Samuel Anyanwu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
