Sonia the Daughter of The Former Deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu has revealed that her father is currently suffering from kidney failure in UK prison

Ike Ekweremadu, a former Deputy Senate president is currently suffering from renal failure.

His daughter Sonia revealed this in a statement on her social media handle.

The 25-year-old said in a lengthy Instagram post that she left the University of Newcastle in 2019 after being diagnosed with the uncommon kidney condition FSGS Nephrotic Syndrome, speaking for the first time since her organ donation scandal broke.

Sonia acknowledged that she is presently in London, United Kingdom, where she undergoes five hours of dialysis three to four times per week.

“In the above circumstance, I am appealing to anybody whom it may please to assist me willingly with a kidney donation in the name of God,” the statement continued.

Every member of my family is eager to give a kidney to me, knowing that I would do the same for any of them, so this plea would have been completely superfluous.

Unfortunately, a thorough medical investigation revealed that my nephrotic syndrome is a genetic ailment, and the physicians cautioned against receiving a kidney from any member of my family because it would probably recur.

Acute kidney damage has been identified in my father during his stay behind bars she stated.
