A Senior Advocate of Nigeria Bar. Etigwe Uwa, (SAN), has officially declared his interest to run for the office of the number one seat of Abia State come 2023 under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
He said the State, has been robbed off its glory over the past years, adding that it was regrettable that the State cannot compete with other neighbouring States, due to the quality of personnel surrounding the administration.
Etigwe who stated this while interacting with newsmen in Umuahia, the capital of Abia State, on Sunday, faulted the idea of anointing candidates in Abia State, stressing that time has come for Abians to reject the practice and gave reality of the fact that Abia need redemption, restoration and liberation.
The legal luminary who encouraged efforts by Abians to stop the practice of anointing candidates, said it was disheartening that their efforts has not yielded any result, stating that there is need to end the hydra-headed monster.
The Senior Advocate of Nigeria, said he has been worried for years by the situation in Abia state health sectors, non payment of salaries of retired officers, poor education systems among others.
Bar Uwa assured that this is the time where there will be a good and secured primary health care system, quality education for the children and Abia where minerals resources will be harnessed, and has also developed passion to make things better, change the narratives and restore Abia State,
Uwa, said it is worrisome that schools in the State, lack equipment which will enable the station work effectively, revealing that his emergence as the Governor, will witness provision of modern learning facilities to help the students excel, expressing worry that even with the poor facilities in the education sector, Abia kids are still taking good positions.
Bar. Uwa promised to reposition Aba by improving the transportation system, improve the power situation in the commercial nerve centre by synergizing with the Geometric.
He said “Aba is a sleeping giant” assuring that he intend to set up a system that will allow Aba to export their Footwears and garments to the international markets.
Again, to set up production of Solar panels to give power to the state, Nigeria and also to other West African countries.
He informed that he has purchased nomination and expression of interest forms to run for the office of the Governor of the State come 2023 under the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA, after due consultations with critical stakeholders, calling on Abians to join hands and support him to achieve Abia of their dreams and aspirations.
