The 2031 Distortion: Otti Is Paying A 24- Year Debt – Not Creating One- By Pastor Prof Chukwuemeka Ifegwu Eke

Abia State, Columns/Opinions/Letters, Good Governance

THE 2031 DISTORTION: OTTI IS PAYING A 24-YEAR DEBT — NOT CREATING ONE There is a difference between holding a government accountable and deliberately stripping a story of the facts that explain it. The headline, “Abia pensioners reject 2031 timeline for gratuity payment,” creates the impression that the Alex Otti administration has casually postponed pensioners’ gratuities for another five years. That impression collapses once the figures are put on the table. FACT ONE: OTTI DID NOT CREATE THIS GRATUITY CRISIS Governor Alex Otti inherited a staggering ₦61.8 billion gratuity liability accumulated over roughly 24 years. The reported breakdown is revealing:…

Otti And The Unrelenting Campaign To Market Abia – By Ebere Uzoukwa, Ph.D ( SSA To Governor Otti On Public Affairs)

Abia State, Columns/Opinions/Letters, Good Governance

OTTI AND THE UNRELENTING CAMPAIGN TO MARKET ABIA Ebere Uzoukwa, PhD Governor Alex Otti’s appearance at the Nigerian British Chamber of Commerce’s “Meet the Governor Series” on Thursday, September 10, 2026, once again showed that his campaign to market Abia is not slowing down. The platform provided the Governor an opportunity to interact with investors, business leaders, members of the diplomatic community and other development stakeholders, while presenting the emerging story of a state that has moved steadily from years of neglect to a new phase of growth and renewal. For Otti, however, it was not simply another public engagement.…

NBCC And The Otti Economic Proposition: Repositioning Abia From Infrastructural Recovery To Industrial Growth- By Pastor Prof Chukwuemeka Ifegwu Eke

Abia State, Columns/Opinions/Letters, Economy, Good Governance

NBCC AND THE OTTI ECONOMIC PROPOSITION: REPOSITIONING ABIA FROM INFRASTRUCTURAL RECOVERY TO INDUSTRIAL GROWTH From Roads and Urban Renewal to Manufacturing, Agro-Processing, Digital Enterprise and Investment — Examining Whether Abia’s Emerging Economic Architecture Can Translate Infrastructure into Jobs, Productivity and Sustainable Prosperity There is something symbolically important about an Abia State Governor standing before the Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce and presenting not merely a catalogue of completed projects, but an economic proposition. For years, much of the national conversation around Abia was painfully elementary. Bad roads. Urban decay. Weak public infrastructure. Unpaid obligations. Commercial frustration. Aba’s enormous entrepreneurial energy operating…

“Temporary Occupant”? When Political Nostalgia Collides With The Evidence In Abia – By Pastor Prof Chukwuemeka Ifegwu Eke

Abia State, Columns/Opinions/Letters, Good Governance

“TEMPORARY OCCUPANT”? WHEN POLITICAL NOSTALGIA COLLIDES WITH THE EVIDENCE IN ABIA There is nothing wrong with opposition. In fact, a serious democracy needs a serious opposition. But opposition becomes comedy when rhetoric is presented as evidence, nostalgia is mistaken for popularity, and declaring somebody a “temporary occupant” is expected to substitute for persuading voters. The latest PDP declaration that Governor Alex Otti and the Labour Party are merely “temporarily” occupying Abia Government House is certainly colourful. Ambassador Empire Kanu reportedly said during the inauguration of the PDP Governorship Campaign Council management team that “PDP is Abia, Abia State is PDP”…

The Sun, September 10, And Vanguard, September 9: When Political Allegations Meet The Facts Of The Otti Administration- By Pastor Prof Chukwuemeka Ifegwu Eke

Abia State, Columns/Opinions/Letters, Good Governance

THE SUN, SEPTEMBER 10, AND VANGUARD, SEPTEMBER 9: WHEN POLITICAL ALLEGATIONS MEET THE FACTS OF THE OTTI ADMINISTRATION A Fact-Based Response to “Anosike Flunks Otti Govt in 9 of 10 Governance Areas” and “2027: Group Rejects Ngwa Diaspora Endorsement of Otti” The Government of Abia State welcomes criticism. It welcomes scrutiny. It welcomes questions. Indeed, an administration that publishes budgets, budget implementation reports and other fiscal documents for citizens to examine cannot reasonably be afraid of public interrogation. But criticism acquires value only when it is supported by evidence. And political allegations do not become established facts simply because they…
