GOV. OTTI PLAYED HOST TO THE FOREIGN MINISTER OF SENEGAL AS HER SON TOOK A BRIDE IN ABIRIBA.
Earlier on Sunday, April 19th, The Executive Governor of Abia State, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, played host to the Foreign Minister of Senegal, Mrs. Yassine Fall at Abiriba in Ohafia LGA during the traditional marriage ceremony of her son Samori Sombel SY with Mary Aluba Okafor.
The Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Sen. Kashim Shettima, GCON, was ably represented in the occasion by the Honourable Minister for Innovation, Science and Technology, Chief Uche Geoffrey Nnaji.
During his remarks, Governor Otti encouraged the bride to love, respect and take care of her husband. He urged her to approach marriage with understanding and tolerance. The Governor blessed the union and promised to be present anytime and anywhere they choose for the white wedding ceremony.
In her short speech, the Senegalese Foreign Minister, Mrs. Yassine Fall thanked the Governor and her Abiriba in-law for their hospitality and the reception given to her team. She assured them that her son will take good care of their daughter. She expressed her joy for the new relationship and handshake between Nigeria, Abia State and Abiriba Community. She appreciated the Vice President of Nigeria, Sen. Kashim Shettima for his statesmanly gesture to her.
The traditional marriage ceremony had in attendance, the creme la creme of Abiriba Community including appointees of the Governor.
