In continuation of the nationwide assessment tour of the country’s mangrove forests, Dr Nkeiruka Chidia Maduekwe,
Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Change visited the Obai river in Isugwu, Ohafia LGA, Abia State and the surrounding mangrove/wetland areas.








The presidential envoy who also double as the DG/CEO National Council on Climate Change was accompanied on the assessment tour by the Abia State Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Philemon Ogbonna, the Permanent Secretary, Abia State Ministry of Environment, Mr. Ikechukwu Orieuwa, the SA to Gov Alex Otti on climate change and sustainability, Esther Ajah, a prominent Ohafia born architect, APC chieftain and immediate past President of the Ohafia elite think tank group, Mben Political Assembly, MPA, Arc Eme Uche Onuh, former Executive Chairman, Ohafia LGA and APC chieftain, High Chief Uche Ogboso, the councillor representing Ania Ward, Hon Ukariwe Ajike,
co-Chairman, APC, Ohafia LGA, Hon Coach Umeh, the Chief of Staff to the former Deputy Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly, Hon Enyioma Ngwobia and many others.
