HOME KNOWS ITS OWN: IKENNA UKWA IDENTIFIES WITH AMAEKPU WOMEN AT 2026 AUGUST MEETING
Hon. Ikenna Nicolas Ukwa, APC candidate for Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency and a proud son of Amaekpu Ohafia, identified with the women of his community during their 2026 Annual August Meeting, held on Saturday, 12th September, at Ohafia Girls Model Secondary School, Amaekpu Ohafia.
Organised by the Amaekpu Community Women Council (Nzuko Iyom Amaekpu), the event was themed “Widow/Youth Empowerment — Reclaiming the Future.”
Hon Ikenna Nicolas Ukwa was represented by his Campaign Director-General, Hon. Chief Mba Ukaha, alongside Chief Mrs. Udo Uduma, Dr. Lucas Uche Eme, Chief Cliff Obia, Hon. Constable Nnate, Mr. Francis Igwe and Mr. Uchechukwu Ulu.
Speaking through his DG, Hon. Ikenna Ukwa thanked the women for the love and support they have continued to show him, assuring them that he would never take the goodwill of his home community for granted.
His message to the women was simple:
“You are our mothers, and your sacrifices have kept our homes and communities together. We will continue to stand with you, and by God’s grace, when given the mandate in 2027, we will have a bigger platform to do even more for our people.”
Speaking on his behalf, the DG urged the women to stand firmly with their son, Ikenna, who has demonstrated the capacity, competence and commitment needed to provide effective representation. He emphasised that supporting and voting for Ikenna in 2027 would be in the best interest of Amaekpu and the entire Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency.
In support of the women and the theme of the August Meeting, Hon. Ikenna Nicolas Ukwa donated a cash gift and dozens of wrappers to the women.
Responding, the President of Nzuko Iyom Amaekpu, Ezinne Chief Mrs. May A. Nwosu-Mba, thanked Hon. Ikenna Ukwa for always identifying with the women and described him warmly as “our own son in whom we are well pleased.”
Hon. Ikenna Ukwa is already a household name in the community for his philanthropic activities. Without holding an elected office, he has touched lives through solar powered street lights, free medical outreaches, WAEC, NECO and JAMB registration support, scholarships and several other educational and community interventions. During the ban on commercial motorcycles (Okada), he also provided temporary transportation support to help schoolchildren get to and from school.
For Amaekpu, this is not a new story. It is the familiar story of a son who has continued to identify with his people and give back to his community, even without the privileges of elected office.
