GOV ALEX OTTI’S 3RD ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS HIT GRAND CLIMAX WITH STRATEGIC PROJECT COMMISSIONINGS, CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATION AND ABIA SOCCER FEST FINAL
As part of activities marking the 3rd Anniversary of the transformational administration of His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, the Government of Abia State has lined up a series of strategic events and landmark project commissionings scheduled to hold on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, across different parts of the State.
The anniversary celebrations continue to reflect the administration’s unwavering commitment to infrastructural renewal, youth development, social advancement, and the restoration of public confidence in governance through purposeful leadership and people-oriented policies.
The day’s activities will commence with the Children’s Day Celebration by 10:00am, an event dedicated to celebrating the future of Abia State through the promotion of child welfare, education, talent development, and inclusive opportunities for young people across the State.
Later in the day, attention shifts to sports and youth engagement with the Abia Soccer Fest Final scheduled for 3:30pm. The football fiesta is expected to bring together youths, sports enthusiasts, and stakeholders in a celebration of unity, talent discovery, and community participation, further reinforcing the administration’s vision of empowering young people through productive engagement.
In continuation of the State Government’s aggressive infrastructural revolution, Governor Alex Otti will also commission several completed road projects and public infrastructure strategically executed to improve transportation, boost economic activities, and enhance urban mobility within the State.
The projects billed for commissioning include:
Commissioning of Umuahia Bus Terminal
Commissioning of Onuimo to Tower Road
Commissioning of Opet to Ahia Eke Road
Commissioning of Ahia Eke to Bende Road
Commissioning of Library Avenue
Commissioning of Ibiam Street
Commissioning of Club Road
These projects further underscore the administration’s resolve to rebuild Abia State through quality infrastructure, modern urban renewal initiatives, and sustainable development projects aimed at improving the living conditions of Ndi Abia.
The Government of Abia State therefore invites residents, stakeholders, community leaders, youths, and members of the public to participate in these activities as the State celebrates three years of purposeful governance, visible achievements, and a renewed hope agenda under the leadership of Governor Alex Chioma Otti, OFR.
