ABIA YOUTHS PROGRESSIVE MOVEMENT PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR CHIEF IKENNA UKWA

The Abia State leadership of the Abia Youths Progressive Movement, AYPM, led by its Coordinator, Hon. Dr. E. Eze Chinedu, has pledged to mobilize support for Chief Ikenna Nicolas Ukwa as he continues consultations on his aspiration to change the leadership style and bring dividends of democracy to the good people of Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency.

The socio-political group made the commitment during a courtesy visit to Hon Ikenna Nicolas Ukwa , founder of the Ikenna Ukwa Progressive Group, at his country home in Amaekpu, Ohafia.

While addressing their host, members of the AYPM commended Chief Ikenna Ukwa for his simplicity, humility, and consistent contributions to society. They cited his philanthropic gestures, youth and women empowerment programmes, educational and health support for vulnerable groups, sports development, agricultural assistance to farmers, and provision of infrastructure and basic amenities across Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency and beyond.

“We are aware of the numerous interventions you have undertaken for your people,” the group stated. “We admire your goodwill and benevolent disposition. You have demonstrated that lives can be positively impacted even without holding an elective office. Indeed, your contributions surpass those of many elected officials. We are here to express our solidarity and to pledge our support to ensure you emerge victorious, so that our people may enjoy greater dividends of democracy.”

“Kindly secure the party’s ticket and leave the rest to us. With our membership spread across the 17 LGAs of Abia State, we will mobilize support at the grassroots and work to ensure your victory at the polls in 2027,” they added.

In his response, Chief Ikenna Ukwa expressed appreciation to the group for the visit and solidarity. He stated that he was humbled by the honour and solidarity extended to him. He assured the AYPM that its members would be carried along in his programmes and activities.

“I am delighted that you have identified with us. I thank you for this honour, and I hereby endorse the Abia Youths Social Media Summit,” Chief Ukwa said.

The high point of the visit was the presentation of an award plaque to Chief Ikenna Ukwa by the Abia Youths Progressive Movement in recognition of his service to society.
