OBU OHAFIA Holds Ohafia LGA Unity Marathon 2024 On 29th December (Read Details)
OBU Ohafia has scheduled OHAFIA LGA MARATHON for December 29, 2024 in Ohafia LGA, Abia State.
Time: 7am to 10am.
According to the Local Organizing Committee Chairman, Chief Ibe Ojo, Obu Ohafia Association is a human development and ifra-techno progression group consistent with their obligations to promote human and infrastructural developments and
cohesion among our communities and individuals through conceptualized interfaces that encourage prosperity in our communities while promoting our rich cultural heritage.
The Marathon aims to promote physical fitness, enhance community spirit, and encourage healthy lifestyles and foster unity among our residents and communities. It will be the first it’s kind in the history of Ohafia LGA and will remain an annual event to promote unity and bonding.
The event will include full and half marathons with an anticipated 1000 participants of all
ages and fitness levels after medical screening.
The route; Starting point at OGSS Amaekpu and terminates at the Ohafia LGA secretariat.
To ensure the event runs smoothly and safely, arrangements are in place for
comprehensive measures and partnership with Federal & State Governments, including:
Traffic management and law enforcement agencies to manage road traffic and ensure
the safety of the participants and other road users.
Medical support with first-aid stations along the route and emergency response teams on-site. Adequate community engagement with business owners and organizations to foster a sense of inclusiveness and support.
We believe that utilizing this friendly engagement will not only enhance our community’s
unity but also promote our commitment to the health and wellness of the members of our
community.
