GOV OTTI JOINS OTHER NIGERIAN, AFRICAN LEADERS FOR THE 2024 OBAFEMI AWOLOWO PRIZE FOR LEADERSHIP AWARD
Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, was among some of Nigerian leaders, who attended the 2024 Obafemi Awolowo Prize for Leadership Award, held Wednesday at the Lagos Continental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The event which had Nigeria’s former Minister of Agriculture and currently the President of African Development Bank (AfDB), Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, as winner of the 2023 Prize, was attended by some former heads of state of Nigeria and other African countries; state governors, traditional rulers, and other prominent Nigerians.
Amongst those present at the event were former Head of State, Yakubu Gowon; President Olusegun Obasanjo, President Goodluck Jonathan and former Vice President Namadi Sambo. There were the President of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan (chairman of the occasion); President of Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Sahle-Work Zewde; and others.
Vice President Kashim Shettima led a cream of some of the serving governors in attendance including Governor Otti, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu; Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun; Usman Ododo of Kogi State and Mohammed Bago of Niger State.
