THOUSANDS JOIN APC IN OHAFIA LGA
Honourable chief barrister Emeka I. U. Kalu PhD, former chairman Ohafia LGA, contestant Abia State House of Assembly in the last general election, a chieftain of Action Peoples Party (APP) announces his defection to the All Progressive Congress APC with his followers and members of APP in Ohafia LGA.
The event took place in his ward, Ebem Oha in Ohafia LGA on Friday 23 February 2024.
The party LGA Chairman Hon. Ume Okwara (Coach) assured the defecting members that the APC is big enough to accommodate everyone.
He encouraged them to feel free and take APC as their new home. Speaking further at the event. A leader of the party in Ohafia LGA, high chief Uche Ogboso, former chairman Ohafia LGA, former house of Assembly member Abia State and APC campaign director General (Abia State) in the last general election who also represented the workaholic state chairman of the party Dr. Kingsley Ononogbu spoke extensively.
He welcomed barrister Emeka I. U. Kalu PhD back to APC family with his teeming supporters. He reminded everyone present that
Barr. Emeka Kalu has been a strong member of the Party, but left in pursuit of his political elective aspirations but since he has come back with more people than he left with, they should be received in dual capacity. He assured all the returning and new members of a level playing ground in the legitimate pursuits of their aspirations.
High chief Uche Ogboso on behalf of the state chairman Dr Kingsley Ononogbu encouraged all the returning and new members to put hands together in ensuring that APC wins subsequent elections in Ohafia LGA, assuring all of his blessings. Dr. Kingsley Ononogbu said he’s pleased with the huge number of defectors into the Party.
He used the opportunity to reintroduce the APC Chairman Ohafia LGA Deacon Coach Ume Okwara. According to him, This is to properly guide intending new members that the party has one structure, the state Chairman and the LGA Chairman. Any dealings on behalf of the party outside as above mentioned is wrong.
High Chief Uche Ogboso assured members that the misunderstanding between party Leaders will soon be a thing of the past as talks are ongoing at the highest levels of the party Leadership.
Notable party leaders across the LGA took turns to Address the gathering, among whom are Oliver Onuoha Igwe (Isiama Ward) chief Dennis Ibe (Ania ward) and Hon. Mbah I. Uduma.
Hon Chief Mbah I. Uduma praised barrister Emeka for taking the right decision at the right time, assuring them that that their interests will be carried along. Chief Denise Ibe told everyone present that APC is only one in Ohafia LGA and encouraged the defectors to always abide by the party rules and regulations.
Barrister Emeka while responding, said APC has been his home all along and thanked his ward, LGA executives and representatives of the state Exco for welcoming him and his supporters back into the fold.. He additionally promised APC family that he’s joining alongside with his followers in Ohafia LGA.
“Let me at this juncture, thank Specially great leaders of our party His Excellency Senator Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu(Senator, Representing ABIA North) and Chief Benjamin Kalu(Deputy Speaker, House Of Representatives) for the numerous projects they are attracting for our people and quality Legislations”, he concluded.
