SSA To Tinubu On Students Engagement, Asefon Switches To Action, Harmonizes NANS Ahead Of Convention
As an experience and ideological comrade, Asefon Sunday has showed that he is capacitated enough to excel in his new office.
Just days after his appointment as Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Students’ Engagement, Comrade Asefon Sunday has harmonized National Association of Nigerian Students, NANS, ahead of her convention.
In a press release sighted by our correspondent, Asefon held a strong stakeholders meeting with concerned individuals in the association, which include NANS President, Senate President, CPC Chairman, among others.
Giving report, he said:
This evening, I had a productive meeting with the leadership of NANS, CPC heads and Stakeholders within the organization to settle ruckus between NANS leadership and CPC ahead of the National Convention schedule to commence in weeks time, As the Senior Special Assistant to President on Students Engagement, with a clear mandate of Mr President to ensure wranglings in Student bodies are nipped in the bud. If there’s a united house, it would be easy to bring dividend of democracy that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has promised Nigerians and that of the Student constituency.
NANS President, Comr Usman Umar Barambu of Federal University Dutse, Jigawa State, Senate President, Comr Attah Felix of University of Jos, Plateau state, Security operatives representative, Stakeholders, 2023 Convention Planning Committee (CPC) Chairman, Comr Adamu Matazu (Carol) and the Secretary, Comr Clifford were all in attendance. Now that everyone is united, we can now continue the transition process without rancor. It has been unanimously agreed that the convention should hold between 27th to 30th November, 2023. On this note, Aspirants and other concerned individuals should get prepared as we proceed to elect new set of leadership for the Nigerian Students Apex body NANS, that will pilot affairs of the association for the next academic calendar.
I thank the outgoing President of NANS for the honor likewise the CPC Chairman and other stakeholders for making the peaceful resolution of all issue much easier upon my intervention.
