Court of Appeal Affirms election tribunal’s verdict, upholds Hon. Kalu Mba Nwoke’s Victory
In a significant legal development, the Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos State has upheld the State Elections Tribunal’s verdict, affirming the victory of Hon. Kalu Mba Nwoke in the House of Assembly general election polls. The decision solidifies the unanimous voice of the electorates.
The State Elections Tribunal’s initial judgment, which validated Hon. Kalu Mba Nwoke’s win at the polls was subsequently challenged by Hon. Ekea Udensi of the People Democratic party at the appeal. The Court of Appeal, after careful consideration of the evidence and legal arguments presented, has now concurred with the tribunal’s findings.
Hon. Kalu Mba Nwoke’s victory reflects the trust and confidence that the electorates have placed in his leadership. Etiokwe is a man who’s antecedents have raised the people’s expectation that he will prioritize the interests of his constituents and contribute meaningfully to the legislative process.
As the legal chapter of this electoral contest concludes, Hon. Kalu has assured the people of Ohafia south a progressive and prosperous shifts to the practical aspects of governance which is centered on delivering the promises made during the campaign and working towards the betterment of the constituency.
Responding to the appeal court judgement, Etiokwe added, “Now is the time to be focused and work for my people. I must reassure the people of Ohafia south state constituency of my resoluteness in bringing home dividend of democracy”
