ABIA GOVERNOR SET TO LAUNCH NEW TAX PAYMENT SYSTEM PLATFORM
The Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex C. Otti OFR, is set to launch the newly developed tax payment platform for the state.
This came after the Special Adviser, working with his team and the Board of Internal Revenue has conducted series of texts and trainings on the use of the new digital payment system and has marked it as secure, convenient and easily assessable.
The Governor had earlier ordered the suspension of all illegal levying and collections of state taxes that were not accounted for in the State coffers. The new tax payment system will give the citizens a sense of accountability as it will provide an “on the spot” direct transfer of payments to a Treasury Single Account (TSA) as provided by the state.
The new payment platform is most convenient for other tax related issues as;
obtaining of Tax clearance certificate,
Tax registration, etc.
The Launch of the new tax payment system is set to hold on Tuesday, 4th July, 2023.
Residents in the State are encouraged to use the payment platform for handling of related tax matters.
