“Tinubu Can’t Be Sworn In”: Court Decides Fate of Peter Obi Supporter Protesting Against Tinubu’s Presidency.

The man that staged a lone protest on Ibom Airline over the weekend against the swearing-in of Bola Tinubu on May 29 has been remanded in prison

Obiajulu Uja, who claimed to be a supporter of Peter Obi, a candidate in the February 25 presidential election, was charged in court for breach of peace by the police
Uja’s lawyer, Ejike Ugwu, said the police could not wait for a psychiatrist, doctor and psychologist to examine him before taking him to court

FCT, Abuja – Obiajulu Uja, who staged a one-man protest against the swearing-in of Bola Tinubu in Ibom Air boarding from Abuja to Lagos, has appeared before a Magistrate Court in Abuja.

The man seen in a viral video over the weekend, calling himself Obidient, Peter Obi supporter, was remanded in prison custody by the magistrate court, The Tribune reported.

According to the report, Uja, who claimed to be a PhD holder, was charged with “public nuisance, resistance to a lawful arrest, threatening violence and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.”

His counsel, Ejike Ugwu, while addressing journalists on Monday, April 3, said Uja was admitted to the Muhammadu Buhari Police Hospital in Abuja, alleging that the hospital lacked a psychiatrist doctor and psychologist who could examine him.

The lawyer accused the police of hurriedly charging Uja to court without holding on to the doctor they invited from the national hospital to examine him properly.

Ugwu added that the bail application of his client would be heard on Thursday, April 6.

Recall that Uja held up the Ibom airline for over an hour, shouting that Bola Tinubu, the president-elect, must not be sworn-in and referring to himself as Obidient, the candidate of the Labour Party in the February 25 presidential election.

No less than 6 airport security officers bundled him out of the airline after he started the protest.

On Saturday, April 1, the video of the incident took over social media. Uja was later accused of causing a breach of peace with his action and threatening violence.

AttNews earlier reported that a Nigerian man had been bundled out of the Ibom Airline after shouting in the commercial airline that Bola Tinubu, the president-elect, must not be sworn in.

The man was suspected to be Peter Obi’s supporter as he was seen shouting that Obidients could see how he was being treated while he claimed he was a PhD holder.

Some of the passengers posited that he was a threat and should be taken off the flight, while others were telling him to go to court and challenge the outcome of the poll in court.
