Growing up from a humble household, I had charted many hustle-paths as a young man in Aba. Tailoring was one of the roots in my tree back then.
Today, I made a brief stop at the tailors cluster at Bawas (Kaduna) Street, Umuahia, to converse with and glean the challenges they experience with making ends meet in their given trade, my first constituency, tailoring.
Multi-level taxation of street businesses using touts and untrained taskforce personnel does unimaginable damage to meagre family resources.
It is my fervent prayer that we can return Abia to the insightful roadmap of our fore-leaders and create an enabling environment for businesses – macro, micro, small, medium and large – to thrive.
