ON THE ADOPTION OF BISHOP DR. SUNDAY ONUOHA AS THE CONSENSUS GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE BY ABIA NORTH POLITICAL PROJECTS AND SCREENING COMMITTEE
Item clan is a land blessed with illustrious sons and daughters, many of whom have become global achievers nationally, and in the diaspora, leaving impactful footprints in virtually all spaces in Nigeria and the world at large. We pride ourselves with great ambassadors like the Professor Irukwus, the Dr. Akwari Ukpabis, the Arunma Otehs, and the Sir H. E. Osokas, among several other renowned and distinguished indigenes.
What excited ndi Item most in the adoption of our celebrated son by the group, are the key considerations that guided their reaching that decision, such as capacity, credibility, competence, sound health, and sound knowledge of good governance principles.
These benchmarks for this selection is a corroboration of the prophetic insight of the great people of Item Homeland close to 2 decades ago when we elected Bishop Ndukwo, then a young Reverend minister as the President General of Item Development Association (IDA); he served his community with astute and unparalleled dexterity. As a community leader, he brought his diasporan experience to bare, and has continued to exhibit unequalled leadership traits and acumen in all the positions he has occupied in both Nigeria and globally.
His demonstrable experience in mobilizing both traditional and community gatekeepers for home-grown security and development; and his transparent record over the years, has further emphasized that it is very possible to close the leadership gap in Abia, especially as we all stand on the precipice of state-collapse.
Abia-North, and in fact Abia can be confident in, and accept the unequivocal fact that with Bishop Dr. Sunday Ndukwo Onuoha, Abia anyi can be great again!
