It is no longer news that Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai has accused Peter Obi of arresting and detaining him for 48 hours during the governorship bye-election in Anambra state in 2013 when he was still the governor of the state.

It would be recalled, that the former Anambra State governor during the interactive session organised by the Arewa Joint Committee in Kaduna on Monday, replied Nasir El-Rufai over his claims.

Reacting to El-Rufai’s claim during a recent interview with journalists, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, dismissed El-Rufai’s claim as falsehood saying that he was even detained in his own local government during the period the election took place.

Hear him, “In one of his comments, he said it was Abuja people who detained him. I was in APGA, the Federal government then was PDP, and election is between PDP, with everybody involved, he came on behalf of his party, and even PDP is contesting. Even me, I was not allowed to leave my local government as governor. So how can I be where I’m equally detained and be detaining somebody, so I wasn’t part of it. I’ve told him, he’s my brother, I cannot detain him, I can never detain anybody”
