BREAKING: No Peace In PDP Until Ayu Leaves. Wike
There appears to be no end at sight in the ongoing crisis bedeviling the main opposition party, Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, with the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike insisting that he would not rescind from his earlier position of calling from the removal of Dr. Uyorchia Ayu as the national chairman of the party.
Governor Wike noted that if Ayu is a man of integrity, he should resign so that the position would be moved to any zone in the south as a balance structure for the party.
He said Ayu would have integrity burden to explain to Nigerians what the PDP would do for them during campaigns because he has refused to live up to his earlier promise of abdicating the chairmanship position if a presidential candidate should emerge from the north.
Wike however revealed plans to increase appointments of Special Assistants on Political Units from 50,000 to 100,000, saying he is not bothered about what the people are saying.
The Governor stated this Friday morning during a media chat in Government House, PortHarcourt. He explained that the essence of get adequate information at various polling Units.
“Employment is part of what we promised our people, information is key but is sad that we are not getting enough information from the polling units, so we will increase the number to 100,000.
” Unemployment rate is too much in the State, so this plan is aimed at tackling unemployment in the state”
When asked how much he planned to pay the appointees, he said, it is not the business of the the media to know.
The Governor further urged the leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) not to push him and his team to the wall, warning that if they do, what they will see will be shocking.
“Nobody should talk to me about my stance on the position of the party chairman because i maintain my earlier position that the Southern region must be given a space “
The governor also debunked that the revocation of land space of the African Independent Television (AIT) in the state was not Political but because they had no allocation licence for the land.
