I will not Use Abia State Funds for Frivolities if Elected”, ADC Governorship Candidate,

Abia State Governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress, (ADC), Bishop Sunday Ndukwo Onuoha has revealed that if elected Governor of the State, his administration would not use State funds for Frivolities which would not be beneficial for the development of the State.
The State ADC Governorship Candidate who made the revelation in an interactive session with members of the Correspondents Chapel of the State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, in Umuahia, Monday, further said the yardstick to be used in judging candidates in the governorship race should be Transparency and Accountability.
Flanked by the Party’s Deputy Governorship candidate, Mrs Ngozi Nwasinmuo and State Party Chairman, Obioma Onwukaike, Bishop Onuoha insisted that good governance rests on transparency and accountability, “Let put search light on all of Us seeking for Governorship position and whosever that comes clean should become our governor.
“I have lived a life of transparency, there is no gabbage hanging around my neck, I am not owing banks money, I have not mortgaged my conscience neither have I mortgaged anything against any other people.
The Methodist Bishop further hinted that he would be going into the governorship race with clean hands, “So that I will not use Abia Money to pay back debts that I am owing neither would I use the State money to settle Party’s major stakeholders and institutions that brought me into the table.
“It is God that will be bringing me to the table, the Church, the poor, the less privileged people those are the people that would be bringing to the table”, he disclosed.
Earlier, in his remarks, Chairman of the Correspondents Chapel, Comrade Sam Obinna Ibe said the media interaction between the chapel with Governorship, Senatorial candidates is one of the Agenda Setting functions of Journalists to make the society better while maintaining that the Chapel would continue to strive for good governance and people participatory democratic process.
Journalist Obinna Ibe maintained that the media has a major role to play for the enthronement of good governance in the country especially so as 2023 election approaches while calling on political office seekers in Abia state to make themselves available with a view to selling their manifestoes to the electorates.
