Chief Obia is from Okon Aku in Okamu Ward. Okamu is one of the largest wards in Ohafia South and strong PDP ward that parades the likes of Udensco, Chief Olugu Kalu Ugba and many other PDP big wigs. The ward is one of the deciding wards in any Elections in Ohafia South.
His Community Okon Aku is the largest in the ward and has never produced any house of Assembly member in Ohafia South nor any elected LG chairman of Ohafia.
He is the leading Aspirant from that ward from PDP for the ticket and they are bent on getting the ticket with the help of other party big wigs from the zone and contacts from other wards in Ohafia South. He is very likely to smile home with the party ticket after the primaries.
