UMUEHIM: LET THE FACTS SPEAK
The attempt to portray the newly commissioned SDA Church at Umuehim-Nvosi as Governor Alex Otti’s “gift” in place of public infrastructure is misleading.
The church was constructed through contributions from Governor Otti and members of the SDA Church, Umuehim-Nvosi, both at home and in the diaspora. It was not presented as an Abia State Government capital project.

The claim that Umuehim has been abandoned is also contradicted by documented government projects. On 25 May 2026, Governor Otti commissioned the Umunkpeyi–Okpokiri–Umuehim Road in Isiala Ngwa South.

On the same day, the administration commissioned the rebuilt and retrofitted Government Cottage Hospital, Umuihie, Okporoahaba, Isiala Ngwa South.

The administration also commenced the reconstruction of the historic 100-bed Okpuala Ngwa General Hospital, with consulting clinics, surgical units, laboratories, radiology, accident and emergency services, children’s ward, blood bank and ambulance support.

Citizens are entitled to demand electricity, water, schools, healthcare and employment. But public debate should be based on verifiable records.
A privately supported church does not erase public infrastructure already delivered. Development questions are legitimate, but facts matter.
