THE POLITICS OF ENVY: WHEN FACTS FAIL, THEY INVOKE BIRTHDAYS, WITCHCRAFT AND “BUBUYAYA” 😆😂

Eric and Ben may indeed “have their way”—but facts will still have the final say.

This lengthy lamentation is a cocktail of jealousy, hypocrisy, misinformation and political witchcraft: mention money, hide its legal structure; mention pensioners, conceal inherited arrears; mention Star Paper Mill, pretend that acquiring and reviving a dead industry is the same thing as switching on a generator; then blame birthday celebrations for everything! 😂

THE ₦84 BILLION TALE

The proposed ₦7 billion monthly infrastructure financing is not Abia’s secret windfall. Reports stated that the arrangement applies equally to the 36 states. Therefore, presenting it as mysterious money personally collected and hidden by Governor Alex Otti is deliberately misleading.

Has the writer produced:

  • Abia’s bank statement showing receipt of ₦84 billion?
  • The date each instalment entered the account?
  • The budget line from which birthday celebrations were supposedly funded?
  • A payment voucher linking public money to those celebrations?

Nothing! Just “they said,” “I understand,” and “people are begging.” This is not financial literacy. It is beer-parlour auditing with data bundles. 😆😂

THE BIRTHDAY WITCHCRAFT

How does celebrating an accomplished Abian above 70 suddenly become evidence that state resources were stolen?

Where is the invoice?

Where is the government cheque?

Where is the appropriation?

Where is the audit query?

Once evidence disappears, political witchcraft begins: throw in “Signature,” birthdays, unnamed people and emotional grammar—then hope readers will not ask questions. 😂

STAR PAPER MILL: INDUSTRIAL REVIVAL IS NOT INSTANT NOODLES

Star Paper Mill was officially handed over by AMCON to the Abia State Government in December 2025 after the state concluded its acquisition for about ₦2.5 billion. The acquisition itself rescued a major industrial asset that had remained moribund for years.

A paper mill requires technical assessment, rehabilitation, machinery replacement, environmental compliance, electricity, working capital and competent private-sector management.

Only economic witchcraft expects a factory abandoned for decades to begin full production four months after ownership changes.

Where were these overnight industrial magicians when Star Paper Mill was dying? Nde bubuyaya indeed! 😆😂

THE PENSION HYPOCRISY

The critic conveniently avoided the fact that the present government inherited pension and gratuity liabilities accumulated over many years.

The National Pension Commission publicly commended the Abia Government for clearing inherited pension arrears and enacting the Abia State Pension Reform Law 2024. The government also budgeted more than ₦10 billion in 2026 toward accumulated gratuity liabilities.

Are all pension and gratuity issues completely resolved? No.

But the intellectually honest question is: Who accumulated the arrears, and who is presently paying them?

You cannot help create a mountain of debt, abandon pensioners for years, and then return with a teaspoon to mock the people removing the mountain. That is not opposition. That is premium hypocrisy. 😂

The claim that “another state cleared 40 years of arrears last week” is meaningless without naming the state, identifying the category of arrears, stating the verified amount and showing the payment structure.

Government finance is not judged by dramatic comparative gossip.

“NDE AGRICULTURE EMPOWERMENT”? PLEASE UPDATE YOUR RECORDS

Abia’s agricultural interventions include the AUDA-NEPAD programme targeting 17,000 farming households, agricultural inputs distributed to smallholder farmers, support for poultry and other value chains, and the LIFE-ND programme supporting hundreds of beneficiaries in poultry, rice, cassava and fisheries.

Mockery cannot make documented beneficiaries disappear.

THE REAL JEALOUSY

They are angry because social media propaganda is losing its power.

They are angry because roads, schools, healthcare facilities, industrial assets and agricultural programmes can be physically inspected.

They are angry because Abians can now distinguish between criticism supported by documents and bitterness decorated with capital letters.

Yes, social media alone is not the barometer of public acceptance. That is precisely why projects are being delivered in physical communities—not inside Facebook grammar.

Refuel as much as you like.

But before resuming, kindly purchase:

✅ A calculator
✅ A budget document
✅ Basic financial literacy
✅ Evidence
✅ And perhaps a small extinguisher for the burning jealousy. 😆😂

The era of frightening Abians with “Nde bubuyaya” is over.

Facts have arrived.

And facts do not fear political witchcraft.
