MAY 2023 – MAY 2026
OVERALL RATING: VERY GOOD
SCORE: 85%
- ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE — VERY GOOD
Governor Otti has completed 414 road projects covering about 864.12km across Abia State, with another 82 roads of about 212km under construction. This is not propaganda; it is measurable infrastructure. 0 - HEALTHCARE — VERY GOOD
The administration recruited 821 healthcare professionals, with 771 already deployed, while 277 primary healthcare centres have been retrofitted, including 121 already functionalised. Over 93,000 residents have also enrolled in the Abia State Health Insurance Scheme. 1 - EDUCATION — GOOD
Otti’s government has begun smart school development, teacher recruitment, and reforms in institutions such as Abia State University, Abia State College of Education Technical Arochukwu, and Ogbonnaya Onu Polytechnic Aba. 2 - FISCAL DISCIPLINE — VERY GOOD
Abia has moved strongly in budget performance and fiscal responsibility. Reports indicate major debt reduction, with Otti stating that fiscal discipline has allowed the state to fund major capital projects while reducing inherited liabilities. 3 - SECURITY — GOOD
The government has sustained security improvements while supporting infrastructure, business movement, and social stability across the state. Security was one of the few areas even critics have found difficult to dismiss. - ABA RENEWAL — VERY GOOD
Aba, the commercial nerve centre of Abia, has witnessed serious road rehabilitation, urban renewal, sanitation attention, and business-supportive infrastructure. Roads that were once symbols of abandonment are now receiving attention. - SANITATION AND ENVIRONMENT — GOOD
The government has created over 2,000 sanitation-related jobs and strengthened waste evacuation efforts in the state. 4 - GOVERNANCE AND ACCOUNTABILITY — VERY GOOD
Otti’s administration has pushed transparency, asset recovery, public accountability, and budget discipline. Governance is no longer being treated as sharing money, but as rebuilding systems. - POWER AND PUBLIC UTILITIES — GOOD
There are ongoing efforts in power, street lighting, public utilities, and infrastructure support. This area still requires more expansion, but the direction is positive. - VALUE FOR MONEY — VERY GOOD
A government that builds roads, recruits health workers, retrofits health centres, improves budget discipline, and reduces debt cannot honestly be scored “very poor.” That is politics, not assessment.
