FINALLY, THE LABOUR PARTY IS BACK
In a landmark judgment, Justice Lifu of the Federal High Court, Abuja, has affirmed Senator Nenadi Usman and Senator Darlington Nwokocha–led Caretaker Committee as the duly recognized National Executive leadership of the Labour Party.
The court further ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to immediately recognize the Caretaker Committee in strict compliance with the judgment of the Supreme Court, thereby putting to rest all lingering disputes over the party’s legitimate leadership.
This decisive ruling marks a significant victory for democracy, the rule of law, and the teeming members and supporters of the Labour Party across the country. It restores order, legality, and stability to the party and reaffirms the supremacy of judicial pronouncements in resolving political conflicts.
We especially extend profound gratitude to the Executive Governor of Abia State, His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, the National Leader of the Labour Party, for his uncommon courage, doggedness, and principled leadership throughout this difficult period.
His steadfast commitment and strategic interventions were instrumental in retrieving the party from the grip of Mr. Julius Abure and his external sponsors, and in restoring the Labour Party to the path of legality, credibility, and progressive politics.
Indeed, this is a new dawn.
Finally, our great party is back.
