Legalize Every Responsible Nigerian To Carry Arms – Senator Fadahunsi Tells Tinubu
Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi has warned that the presidency must be told the full truth about nigeria’s worsening insecurity “so that we are not consumed.”
Speaking during a senate plenary, he described the country as one heavily armed yet overrun by “useless boys” terrorising citizens without resistance.
He said the situation has pushed nigeria close to “a military-style environment,” noting that the nation is “almost at war.”
Adenigba urged the commander-in-chief to “re-examine the architecture around him” and take decisive action before the crisis deepens further.
The senator also referenced global trends, saying that over 120 countries now allow responsible citizens to carry arms. He argued that nigeria should consider a controlled framework for civilian self-defence to confront b+ndits more effectively.
Fadahunsi insisted that it should also become illegal to negotiate with armed criminals, stressing that such deals only embolden them.

He added that unless the federal government strengthens security operations, empowers communities and restores discipline within the security structure, the country risks sliding into total chaos.
