AKPABIO’S SENATE TAKES A DIVE INSIDE THE BOTTOMLESS PIT.

One Senator Onyekachi Nwaebonyi from Ebonyi state yesterday during a Senate Committee hearing of the Natasha/Akpabio sexual harassment scandal presently rocking the Senate launched himself both into the limelight and kleighlight by notoriously escalating the crises in the Senate to a new height when he contemptuously descended heavily on Dr. Mrs Oby Ezekwesili like an animated child delinquent. He lost his emotional sanity and ranted like a kindergarten lunatic drug addict. He forgot that Oby Ezekwesili is representing an international women coalition in the committee hearing room and that the international community are interested in the Natasha case and are taking notes.

Senator Nwaebonyi’s unparliamentary conduct is yet more evidence to support earlier claims by Natasha of a Nigeria Senate that is malevolent and unrepresentative of the people. A Nigeria Senate that is busy abusing the rights of the citizens and totally lost on its primary mandate of being the moral fiber in constitutional democracy.
Senator Nwaebonyi from Ebonyi state by his conduct has plunged deep into the moral cesspit of the embarrassing Senate scandals and apparently has made himself the Mccoy in nailing the Senate for its spate of moral dissonance.

Before the latest narcissism by Nwaebonyi during the Senate committee hearing, one Senator named Neda Imasuen was also involved in the Senate dirty job of covering ‘a pregnancy’ by clubbing, cudgeling, hounding, pummeling and shutting up Natasha, her constitutional rights and the constitutional rights of the Kogi people she represents just because she dared to complain about the Senate President’s excessive randy behavior.

Not too long after his bestial candour, news of Senator Neda Imasuen’s criminal misdemeanor and ban in the USA from practice of his law profession was awash in the social media space making him a butt of illegality, criminality, and a socially unfit to even be at the Senate. He also fell deep into the moral cesspit.

In one of my recent intervention in this Natasha/Akpabio Senate scandal, I had warned about the consequences of covering the naked honcho of Akpabio as too costly a venture that will have the tendency to escalate instead of abating the scandal by dragging the entire Senate down. In a civilized clime, once you’re nailed, you take the honorable exit path by throwing in the towel and disappear into oblivion. Our own reading of democracy does not teach us such civility or candour.

We will rather begin to see it as a pull-him-down stint and challenge that must be repulsed. This pitches us in illegal, illegitimate and irreverent struggles and spin to sit tight in our positions. Every criminal and scammer becomes our friends and advisers as long as such advice is relevant to keeping our positions. The question is, how much lower will the Senate fall into the bottomless pit before it is recovered or rescued?

How does one rationalize the botched fake attempt to recall a very popular Senator Natasha from her constituency and replace her with Yahaya Bello, unarguably one of the most hated, lawless, reckless and egocentric ex governors in Nigeria. A white lion that lost in battle against the spineless pussycat. This man that has no defense over an EFCC case of stealing over a N100 Billion from his people wants to replace Natasha at the Senate to start his own rehabilitation skit there. This is perhaps another of the terrible cesspit of the trending Senate scandals.

Another Senate moral plunge was its refusal to defend the democratic rights of the Rivers people when it used voice votes instead of 2/3 majority to undermine the Constitutional provision for a proclamation of the State of Emergency. Evidence soon trended everywhere on how dollars were shared to pull the illegality against the Nigeria people. The ricochet of scandals are unending and casts a dark pall and shadowy eclipse on our democratic survivability as a nation.

The Senate is supposed to be a symbol of democracy, but the Nigeria Senate has turned into a symbol of debauchery, incivilty, unconstitutionality and a hallmark of narcissism. Godswill Akpabio should please stop his sit tight struggles and let go to end this dance of vulnerability at the Senate.
