ARRESTS LOOMS AS ASHTF INTENSIFIES HUNT FOR ILLEGAL REVENUE COLLECTORS, CALLS ON THE PUBLIC TO REPORT SUSPECTS.
On Sunday, March 9, 2025,at around 6.30 am, the Aba area Coordinator of Abia State Harmonized Taskforce, Mr. Uche Wogu led a combined team of ASHTF operatives and officers of the Nigeria police, in a joint operation.
The operation aimed to apprehend suspects involved in the illegal collection of revenue from traders in Ehi Road, Aba.
The team successfully arrested 11 suspects, who were taken to the Ndiegoro Police Station. The suspects were allegedly collecting revenue on behalf of some communities, it was alleged that the collection of the toll was given to them in 2017 by Aba South LG.
Additionally, 5 mechanics whose activities poses as obstruction and damage to the major roads were also apprehended at Jubilee, and handed over to the Ndiegoro Police Division.
With these few developments and series of Arrests made by the Taskforce recently, which specifically involves fake revenue collectors, The Abia state Harmonized Taskforce issues a stern warning to all fake revenue collectors still in operation, to desist from their illegal activities or risk arrest and prosecution.

However, the Taskforce enjoins all market women and traders to report any fake revenue agent disturbing them in the markets, while warning them to desist from paying revenue in cash to anyone, as the Abia State Government ably led by Governor Alex Otti, will never demand cash payment of any revenue from anyone, all revenue payments must be paid directly to the state account, any other revenue payment contrary to this should be considered fake and reported to the taskforce immediately.
