Wike Is An Igbo Son, I Will Defend Him; He has Right To Be FCT Minister – Iwuanyanwu
Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has stated that Abuja belongs to all Nigerians, irrespective of tribe or religion.
In an interview with Arise TV, Iwuanyanwu recounted an incident where concerns were raised about Nyesom Wike, with suggestions that he should not serve as a Minister of FCT due to his Igbo heritage. Iwuanyanwu said he defended Wike, highlighting that as an Igbo son, Wike, like every Nigerian, deserves the opportunity to serve as minister of FCT. He emphasized that Abuja represents a capital for everyone, regardless of ethnic or religious background. Iwuanyanwu pledged to support and defend individuals like Wike, stressing the importance of unity and inclusivity in Nigeria’s governance and society.
In Iwuanyanwu’s words: “Somebody came to me and was talking about Wike, that they say Wike should not be Minister of FCT because he is an Igbo man. I told them ‘Wike is an Igbo son and I will defend him, he has right to be Minister of federal capital because it is a capital for everybody, every tribe, and every religion will be there”
