Oba Ewuare II declares, “Show me a man in Africa who has sacrificed his own mother and father for the freedom of his people like Nnamdi Kanu, and I will immediately step down as the Oba of Benin!”
The revered monarch, Oba Ewuare II of the Benin Kingdom, has publicly expressed his deep admiration for the detained IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, describing him as “a man history will never forget.”
“I am witnessing history in the making. A man like Nnamdi Kanu still walks this earth — a man who placed the freedom of his people above his own bloodline. Such men are rare,” the Oba said. For years, critics and political voices have thrown countless accusations against the Biafran agitator. They said “Igbos love money” — yet Nnamdi Kanu proved them wrong.
They claimed “the South-East and South-South can never unite” — yet Nnamdi Kanu built a bridge that no politician could.
They mocked him, saying “he will abandon Biafra when he cashes out” — yet he remains in detention despite an alleged ₦500 billion offer to drop his struggle.
They said “Igbos don’t love themselves” — yet Nnamdi Kanu’s sacrifice has become the symbol of Igbo unity and resilience.
“You can jail a man, but not his vision,” the Oba added. “Kanu’s name will echo in the hearts of generations unborn.”
