UPDATE ON THE ONGOING INSTALLATION OF SOLAR POWERED STREET LIGHTS IN AROCHUKWU, FACILITATED BY IKENNA UKWA
Today, Friday 9th May 2025, the contractor handling the installation of solar powered street lights in Akama new market road/Obinkita and its environs in Arochukwu, Kaplan Consult limited has commenced work.
Currently, the pole fabrication and excavation of the soil for the moulding of the pole base is ongoing.
Recall that, Hon (Dr) Ikenna Nicolas Ukwa , the Senior Legislative Aide to the Senate President facilitated the project for the people of Obinkita, Arochukwu kingdom through the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.
According to the contractor, the project is expected to be completed before the end of this month.
The project scope includes the installation of 8 meters high , 100 watts of 233 units of solar powered street lights.
Hon Ikenna Nicolas Ukwa had earlier last year attracted the same solar powered street lights for the people of Ebem, Okon and Oboro communities in Ohafia LGA of Abia State.
This is part of his avowed determination to ensure that he brings impactful projects that will further develop the various communities in Ohafia and Arochukwu LGAs and Abia at large.
