THE HEALTH OF THE AFRICAN MUST BE SUSTAINED THROUGH NUTRITION AND HEALTHY LIFESTYLE, NOT MEDICINES NOR VACCINES.
“Let Food be thy Medicine and Medicine be thy Food” says Hippocrates, the great Greek Physician and Philosopher in 440 BC.
Sometime ago, I wrote an article on Healthy Lifestyles and promised to further insight into the subject matter with proof as I was challenged then to do so.
This attached photo of myself in blue suit on the left side of the photograph was taken on 5th of November 2019 at Uyo Akwa Ibom State Nigeria while the one on the right side of the photograph was taken on the 24th of June, 2023 at Abuja, Nigeria.
I do not wish any African to die untimely from heart attack or from any disease that is said to have originated from what we term “over enjoyment.”
Hence the essence of this Article is to rejig the minds of Africans toward healthy living.
You will agree with me that though I looked healthy with a pot belly that could pass for an 8 month pregnancy, I was dying inside me and body inflammations was at the increase. The only honorarium I expect from fellow Africans for this article is for me to see that the health of the African is renewed after reading and practicing what I have inked down in this article.
So what did I do differently to have metamorphosed me into the person in the photo on the right side of the photograph? Relax and read me carefully.
What is this magic that changed my look within a period of two to three years to now look 20 years younger? The answer is that I simply found the fountain of youth through in-depth research and putting into religious practice, what I learnt; the way of our Ancestors.
What are they?
- The human body from birth is acidic and for one to be healthy you must bring your body to 80% Alkaline and 20% Acidic and the more you Alkalize your body, the more healthier you become.
- That all Acidic foods must be avoided like plagues.
- That Acidic foods are the causes of body inflammations, sicknesses and diseases.
- That No Bacteria, No Fungi, No Algae and No Virus causing diseases can survive in an Alkaline environment.
- Embrace Nutrition rather than seek for Modern Medicine, suffice to say, make “prevention better than cure” your Health motto.
- The Minerals or Nutrients we seek from foods and medicines have their origin from the Earth. The plants; fruits and vegetables derive their nutrients from the Mother Earth while we humans rely on vegetables, fruits and the Earth for our own Nutrients and healing.
Without mincing words, the Earth is supremely positioned by God to sustain humanity.
Man is said to originate from the earth, the earth keeps him alive via its endowed nutrients and the same Earth he returns.
The healing power in the earth can not be overemphasized. For example, walking barefooted
on soil exposes you to its benefits as the powerful microbes found in soil help build immunity naturally. Microbes enter our body through our skin, from under our nails and feed the good bacteria in our gut microflora making us stronger and healthier, thereby boosting our immune system. Please try and be walking on soil barefooted sometimes, it helps.
Now what are the Acidic Foods that must be avoided like plagues?
A. Meat and Diary foods including Cow and Goat Milk.
B. Processed Sugar of any form; whether in cube, granulated or mineral form including packaged juice.
C. Alcohol in any form whether as Spirit, Brandy, Champagne, Wine or Beer because they all have processed sugar in them.
D. Coffee of any form.
E. Cigarette or tobacco of any form.
F. Processed food of any kind as they are laced with preservatives which are toxic to the body so foods like Sardine, Geisha, Indomie or processed noodles and even Maggi must be avoided . In fact any food that is not natural must be avoided as most of the processed foods are cancerous.
Now let me take us back to the time of our Ancestors, Let it be known that our Ancestors never had meat as a priority on their menu but vegetables and fruits.
In Igbo land where I hailed from, we were known to be herbivorous. But surprisingly today, the Igbo tradition can not do without “Sizable Meat” on their demand list for either marriage or burial traditional rites. Indeed we are gradually becoming deculturalized.
May I remind us that if Noah of the Bible witnessed Humanity eating meat, he wouldn’t have cried to God for what the people will eat after the food (the fruits and vegetables) he took into the Ark perished and there was nothing for them to eat except the Animals. God then commanded them to eat from the animals Noah had taken into the Ark. And that was how the life span of man was cut short.
Need I also remind us that our fore parents were only eating freshly cooked food and that saw our foremothers cooking their meals daily. Need I remind us that Water with a pH level of 7 and as Neutral as it looks has its acidic content and that informed our forefathers decision to be storing their drinking water in Micaceous Clay Pots and drank their water and their fresh Palm-wine from cups and Calabashes made from Vegetable Bottle Gourds and ate their foods from earthen Micaceous clay pots and plates? What is the Science behind their above practice then? It’s so because the Earthen Micaceous Clay pots and Vegetable Calabashes or Vegetable Bottle Gourds are Alkaline-based and as such are able to convert the Acidic content of the Food and Water to Alkaline and as our Ancestors engaged in such practices, their body systems were Alkalized. Terminal diseases and sicknesses were far from our Ancestors due to their health practices which we have today abandoned due to high level miseducation as we continued to embrace the white man’s culture. Deculturalization is the tragedy of the African.
Black Africans particularly from subsaharan African are said to have 9 DNA Series, while Europeans have 6 DNA Series which ought to make the Black African genius but we allow some interests to lead us on the path of Health. As Africans we should be able to withstand biotic attacks much more than the European tribe but not when we have broken down our body Defence system by injecting acidic food and drinks which makes our body vulnerable to attacks.
What are Alkaline foods that we must now consume going forward?
A. All Green Vegetables are Alkaline. Please eat them.
B. Fruits including tomato which is acidic but becomes Alkaline when cooked. Fruits which include lemon and orange are naturally acidic but becomes alkaline when they undergo metabolism. Other fruits are equally nutritious.
C. Endeavor to be consuming Nuts and Seeds.
D. Store and Drink your water from Micaceous Clay pots like our Ancestors did.
E. Use natural organic sweeteners like Sugar cane water (it’s alkaline), Dates or Dates powder, Natural honey, Pineapple etc.
F. Consume organically bred fresh fishes preferably boiled or sun-dried. Please avoid Stockfish as research has shown that Dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDT) an insecticide and Heptachlor a pesticide are applied to Stockfish for preservation before sun-drying it by Norwegians and Icelanders. The United States had long banned both chemicals from use in their Agricultural and domestic situations due to their potential cancer risks. Let me state here that this revelation came from days of deep research to unravel the mystery behind the hardness of Stock-fish which we often consume in Africa. In Igbo land where I hail from, Okporoko (Stockfish) is very prominent in the recipes of our daily meal. We must put a STOP to eating stockfish except the fresh ones.
Best time to eat your Dinner:
Ensure you eat your last meal before 6 pm or at least 4 hours before you go to bed as your metabolic system slows down by 15% the moment your body sleeps and food takes 4 hours to digest so ensure you are active for 4 hours after your Dinner before going to bed. The implication is that when you eat your Dinner say two hours before your bedtime, your food may not properly digest. The next morning you eat your breakfast while still carrying your undigested food of the previous night. Note that the stomach has the capacity to expand to any level just to accommodate your excesses. So gradually your tummy begins to grow. Don’t forget that acidic foods also cause indigestion so both late night food and acidic food continue to help the growth of your tummy.
I have also observed that cassava products are very acidic with a pH level of 4.8 and as such not easily digestible but then you have to eat less of it and more of fresh vegetables if you must eat cassava product. I recommend that people eat their vegetables raw after washing them with salt because I do not trust the composition of the Vinegar we have in our African stores. Eat your vegetables raw just to be sure you absorb the nutrients in the vegetables directly into your body system.
Stop consistent heating of foods:
Heating destroys nutrients in Foods as it breaks down the bonds of Nutrients. Even water that is passed through heat loses its Natural Nutrients such Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Potassium, Sodium etc. so if you have a borehole that its water is directly from the Aquifer, please drink it, your body needs it. The best Natural Water filtration medium is the Soil and as water passes through various sediments of the soil to settle at the Aquifer, it gets filtered and such water is good for drinking. Drink God given water with Nutrients.
Our Ancestors drank water from Streams and Rivers and lasted between 100 years and 200 years because most of their food intake were alkaline based so sicknesses and diseases were far away from them. Indeed our Ancestors were educated and we appear miseducated in the 21st century.
Best time to Drink Water:
Apart from drinking your water in the morning when you wake up because it helps to hydrate your system and improves your brain function, it is bad to drink water immediately after eating.
One of the strongest cases against drinking water immediately after meal is that it disturbs the digestive process, by diluting the gastric juices and digestive enzymes. This makes it difficult for the body to digest food effectively thereby leading to indigestion which again leads to protruded stomach or Pot belly with time. It’s strongly recommended that you drink water at least 30 minutes after your meal.
My African brothers and sisters, if I knew what I know today, I am sure my parents would have still been alive, so for those of you whose parents are still alive, please run quickly to stop them from consuming Acidic foods. Store their water in Clay pots for more water alkalinity. Ensure they eat more of vegetables and raw if possible otherwise blend it for them to drink. Some people will cite examples of one person in their village or community who drinks alcohol and eats meat excessively or even smoke yet are over 80 or 90 years old without considering the average life span of the villagers they cite as examples.
For us who are alive and still have the chance to change to lead a healthy life, do not take my words for it, do your in-depth research and apply it to your daily life. This “something must to kill a man” slogan is the reason why our life expectancy has crashed to 53 years for women and 52 years for men. Do not take life for granted.
“Sizable Meat” and Alcoholic drinks are killing our African youth in their numbers.
What does Meat intake actually do to the Human system?
i. Causes Heart Attack and Stroke:
The effect of saturated fat is similar as it raises your cholesterol levels. Newer studies lead doctors to believe that red meat contains nutrients that, when broken down in your gut, produce Trimethylamine-N-oxide (TMAO). TMAO raises your chances of developing hardened arteries, heart attack, and stroke.
ii. Causes Cancer:
Consuming too much red and processed meat causes 18% of bowel cancer cases. Processed meat is classified as a Class 1 carcinogen by the World Health Organization. Current research shows that there are certain chemicals in processed meats – both added and naturally occurring – that cause them to be carcinogenic.
Why is veganism or vegetarian lifestyle better than Meat intake?
Vegetarians have lower low-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels, lower blood pressure and lower rates of hypertension and Type 2 Diabetes than Meat Eaters. Vegetarians also tend to have a lower body mass index, lower overall cancer rates and lower risk of chronic disease.
In conclusion, Processed Sugar, Processed Foods, Meat/Dairy, Alcohol and other Acidic foods listed above are Killers.
