PDP ABIA CRYING WOLF WHERE NON EXIST.
We have read with interest the release by the Abia PDP signed by its publicity secretary Mr. Erik Ikwuagwu accusing the government of Abia state of suppression of dissent and opposition voices. Nothing can be far from the truth as this amounts to crying wolf to attract undue sympathy.
When the newly appointed Abia PDP exco were inaugurated, they went overboard in their bid to play to the gallery and impress their paymasters that they had arrived by forming what they called a ‘Shadow Government’. They were immediately cautioned and warned not to embark on expensive voyage of discovery nor to try overreaching themselves but they turned deaf to wise counsel.
In their ecstatic mood of dementia, they took their intolerance of the government of the day to ludicrous fantasy. They thought the Alex Otti led Abia government would play Russian roulette or make jokes with people that rudely fantasize another government no matter how ephemeral.
I had written and warned protagonists of Shadow Government that only one government can exist in the galactic continuum geographically defined as Abia State and that no other will be allowed to share in the temporal powers divinely donated to it no matter how minute. But Abia PDP insolently preferred to rub shoulders and and beat chest with the government elected by the people.
By so doing, they crossed the boundary of opposition politics and also crossed the rubicon of treason and insurrection. No serious government will watch and let such rebellion to slide. Someone’s ox need to be gored and the igbo parlance, “anu gbaa ajo oso, agba ya ajo egbe” surely will suffice.
Dr. Alex Otti cannot be faulted in his use of a sledgehammer to pursue ants in this case because the ants will soon turn to soldier ants in the house. This is the time for the real government to act. It’s not a time to let the prophets of Baal deceive the uninitiated.
Abraham Amah and his PDP state exco apparatus should be advised to play opposition politics without overarching their political destiny. Their operational desiderati is disingenuous, chaotic and appear infamous.
The ‘Shadow’ government appellation is in this context confrontational, an affront, a civil dissonance, civil disobedience, anachronistic, dissent and insurrection. It offends our penal codes and calls for action on the part of the government. It also represents a sin against the holy spirit. There’s indeed no escape for the children of perdition. The authors and crafters of this treasonable script must be prepared to face the music.
The formation of Shadow government in Abia state is an insult to Abia people who just started seeing development only after the PDP left office in 2023. All the PDP state exco deserve to be behind bars for daring the people with this Shadow nonsense.
If they’re confused about the proper nomenclature to adopt for their opposition perfidy, they are free to use their ‘Shadow’ in what ever form but should leave our ‘government’ out of it. There’s no peace for the wicked. The New Abia government led by Dr. Alex Otti must prevail.
