DR. ALEX OTTI’S NEW DREAMS FOR GREATER UMUAHIA EXPANSION PROJECT IS UNVEILING.
Abians are delighted to read that governor Alex Otti will be flagging off the dualization of Umuahia Tower to Onuimo gateway on the 3rd of December, in continuation of his Umuahia urban renewal reconstruction works. Also worthy of note is that the Umuopara ring road will equally be flagged off which when completed is expected to open the Umuopara surburban for integration towards the old Umuahia city. The approach from Imo State starting from the gateway at Onuimo will redefine and transit to the new city concept for the Umuahia urban megalopolis.
In the light of these new concepts, a new and bigger Umuahia city will gradually evolve by connecting the Umuopara surburban to the old urban city through the six lane road being reconstructed and hopefully interswitching at the Tower with a flyover across the Portharcourt Enugu Expressway in place of the old Tower roundabout. Yes, Dr Alex Otti being a digital thinker will see reason to build our first flyover at the Tower roundabout to connect the Umuopara to the Ossah axis. The time for that to happen is now.
These new concepts at reengineering and transitioning towards the greater Umuahia city will also connect the Umuopara surbubs through the ring road to a new conurbation with the Umunwanwa plains to unveil a new development center for the coming Umuahia megalopolis. A new Umuahia town will be birthed along the stretch between Umuopara and Umunwanwa where their exists a large swathe of virgin explorable lands for new sustainable development centers.
Another flyover interswitch will be located to connect Ubakala to link the Umunwanwa axis to complete the greater Umuahia urban city loop between the old and the new Umuahia towns. I am very positive that Dr. Alex Otti will complete this redesign and new conceptual plans to build the Umuahia mega city before he leaves office by 2031.
As Dr. Alex Otti continues to grapple with new plans and innovation on new ideas to answer his critics with more critical infrastructure projects, our singular prayers as Abians is for God to show him mercy by blessing him with long life and good health to energize the citizens with good governance. Abia is finally moving forward.
His Excellency, Dr Alex Otti may consider creating a new agency (Greater Umuahia Development Agency) GUDA to drive the new goals of implementing these innovative projects.
