AS THE PDP ABIA STATE CONGRESS DRAWS NEAR, CHIEF BARRISTER OLUGU KALU UGBA IS POSITIONED TO BUILD A ‘NEW PDP’ IN THE STATE.

As the Abia PDP state Congress draws very close, one man stands out in what may conveniently be recaptioned a ‘one horse’ race to win the hearts of the state party delegates to begin a speedy rebuilding of the party. Chief Barrister Olugu Kalu Ugba, a scion of Udumaeze Ohafia ancient kingdom, a great son of Amangwu Ohafia, erudite legal luminary, a former Deputy Chief of Staff, a mega businessman and politician is poised to prove that his ‘Ishi bu mba’ chieftaincy title is not a pet name.

As his chieftaincy title rightly connotes, this man, ‘Ishi bu mba’ is poised to convince the party delegates across the length and wide of the state that his head is big enough to carry the burden of rebuilding the now comatose and disillusioned party to a ‘New PDP’ that is loaded with a rekindled morale to reposition itself not only as a veritable opposition platform but as a party that can renew its public trust with the people.

‘Ishi bu mba’ is coming into the race as the man most qualified to take on the challenges of rebuilding the party after it suffered tremendous rejection by the people during the last election. The task ahead is enormous, herculean, daunting and appears a mission possible getting back the people’s trust so soon after suffering a landslide defeat in the last polls.

Barrister Olugu Kalu Ugba is buoyed by a good number of factors going for him and which he believes will make the job of electing him seamless and much easy for the delegates. Ranking among these plusses are his uncommon integrity, sublime personality, sublime character, highly personable mystique, compassionate, youth friendly, great grassroots mobilizer, political connectivity, intellectual harbinger, humane, urbane and above all can be trusted beyond partisan hue.

Abia State today requires less of partisan politicians and more of unifying politicians in order to emphasize on much needed development. ‘Ishi bu mba’ is the man that understands this alchemy to move us forward. Besides his personal and well tested attributes, ‘Ishi bu mba’ promises a 3R agenda of reinventing the party; Reconciliation, Reorganisation and Redirection are chief among his prescriptions in order to move the party forward and regain the public trust.

He is seeking the support of State PDP delegates to avail himself of the platform to begin reconciliation of aggrieved members, to reorganise the disparate components of the party across the 184 electoral wards of the State, and redirect the chequerred party back to winning ways and restoring accountability with the people who holds the ultimate instrument of power. Indeed the platform Barrister Olugu Kalu Ugba seeks is the one he believes will return power to the people.

Barrister Olugu, a man of great promise is basking on the euphoria of his intrinsic knowledge of the synthesis of what got the Abia PDP on wrong footing and on its knees and promising to fix it by dealing with the root causes of those problems.

We need not overstating the trite facts that the Nehemia rebuilder of the PDP ruins in the state is non other than ‘Ishi bu mba’, a man who the cap fits. If you ever want to see a man that has and courts no enemies, it is this man, Chief Barrister Olugu Kalu Ugba. It is our hope that all men of goodwill and who desires good for Abians should support the move to exemplify our leadership with good characters by promoting the emergence of good men like ‘Ishi bu mba’ to climb to higher pedestals of our politics.

The ascension unto the podium of our politics by men of ‘Ishi bu mba’ caliber will work for the overall good of pushing Abia political narratives to higher limits. Abia politics should be promoted beyond partisan interests.
