Soludo’s Leadership Gains Momentum as Major Opposition Party Collapses Structure in Solidarity
In a significant show of solidarity for the manifestation of the transformative agenda for Sustainable Development in Anambra State, over 1,300 former members of the major opposition political party, the People’s Democratic Party PDP, have decamped to the ruling All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA.
The former PDP members, including leaders, executives, and loyalists, converged at the Women Development Center in Awka on Saturday, June 8, 2024, where they were officially received by Governor Soludo into APGA.
This development follows the comprehensive development agenda for all 21 Local Government Areas in Anambra State, championed by the indefatigable Governor, Professor Charles Soludo CFR.
Welcoming the decampees into the party, Governor Soludo enjoined them to join hands with the Government in the ongoing development agenda in the State.
The Governor assured them of equality and love among the party members.
Meanwhile, upon being received by Governor Soludo, the decampees acknowledged that Anambra State under his administration has entered an era of unprecedented progress characterized by inclusivity, transparency, and effective governance, marking a significant departure from the past.
Expressing delight, some of the distinguished personalities in the party, including the Director of all PDP structures in Anambra, High Chief Jude Osude Anagor, Dr. Arinze Alphonsus Anagu, High Chief Jude Osude, and Prof. Rose Nwankwo, unequivocally stated their belief that Governor Soludo’s achievements in two years in office are unmatched.
They maintained that Prof. Soludo, as the 2023 Best Governor of the Year on Infrastructure and Rural Development, and the 2024 Democracy Governor, has humbled opposition members within and beyond the state.
This shift demonstrates effective governance and has garnered respect from opposition parties.
Soludo’s government is widely acknowledged as leading Anambra towards a prosperous future, effectively silencing opposition and unifying the state’s political landscape under his visionary leadership.
