Panic As Unknown Gunmen Shoot Dead Lawmaker In Delta
The unknown gunmen have shot dead Honourable Festus, a councillor representing Owhase Ward in the Udu Local Government Area Legislative Council, Delta State.
The assailants targeted the councillor at his residence, delivering a fatal shot to his head on Monday.
The motive behind the killing is believed to be linked to cultism activities, according to Sahara Reporters.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the incident and assured that the police have initiated a comprehensive investigation.
He said efforts are underway to apprehend the perpetrators, adding that the police are intensifying their efforts to address the situation.
His words: “Yes one Festus was shot on his head by unknown assailants, the wife informed the brother. We are seriously on their trail.”
