Rivers Crisis: Any Attempt To Return Any Resigned Commissioner, Will Be Brutally Resisted – Legbosi
The President of the Ogoni Youths Federation In Rivers State, Legbosi Yamabana has issued a stern warning against any attempts to reinstate commissioners who had previously resigned. He stated that if such an attempt were made, the Rivers state youth would occupy all oil installations in the country and take control of the government house, leading to a halt in government activities. He also argued that the 27 lawmakers who have defected without issues in their party initially are considered to have vacated their seats. He criticized the resolution by the President as being contrary to the constitution.
He said in an interview with Arise TV, ”The constitution of the federal republic is explicit. When lawmakers have defected from the parties that elected them without problem in their party ab initio. Their seats stand vacated. And as at today, their seat is vacated. That resolution is anti the constitution, so it will not work. Secondly, any attempt to return any commissioner that resigned, we will occupy all the oil installations in this country. We shall also occupy this government house and there shall be no government activities.”
