ADC’s KALU KALU AND HIS MISPLACED AUDACITY
Barrister Kalu Kalu is my very good friend. We were classmates at Ngwa High School Aba. We are also professional colleagues. I even think we are call mates.
Kalu is currently the ADC Gubernatorial Candidate in Abia State for the 2027 election, at least for now. He told me that he is also the State Chairman of the Party.
He is the gubernatorial candidate for now pending when Don-Norman Obinna Agu Ibeku will resurrect his political arsenal which is usually garnished with obfuscating and high falutin grammar.
I was told today that my friend Kalu threw a challenge at Governor Alex Otti to show him any completed project in Ohafia. He went ahead to say that if he is shown any, that he will resign.
Inukwa Kalu my man!

Nnaa, so you are actually serious about this your gubernatorial thing? I thought the thing is a one big joke o.

Well, evidence ends arguments.
Kalu, are you aware of the existence of an Agency called the GREATER OHAFIA DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY (GODA)?
GODA has a Director General who is a son of Ohafia. The Agency has delivered and is still delivering many projects across Abia North Senatorial District.
In Ohafia alone, GODA has delivered the following projects which are verifiable –
- The 1.5km Amaekpu Ring Road – COMPLETED
- Asaga – Amuke Road with a bridge – COMPLETED
- Construction of Ndi Orieke Road, Phase One – COMPLETED.
- Construction of Abia Ohafia – Amamiri Arochukwu Road – COMPLETED
- Reconstruction of 2.4km Asaga Ring Road – COMPLETED.
- Rehabilitation of the 6.5km Abiriba – Etitiama Nkporo Road – COMPLETED
- Construction of Okagwe – Nkwebi Road – COMPLETED
- Reconstruction and Retrofitting of GODA headquarters at Amaekpu, Ohafia together with the establishment of the Agricultural and Rural Management Training Institute, an agency of the Federal Government.
These are mainly major roads in Ohafia. GODA has opened up several rural roads through grading and earth works. They have completed several water projects and they are currently handling the construction of markets in Ohafia. This is from GODA alone.
The massive Umuahia – Uzuakoli – Akara – Abiriba – Ohafia – Arochukwu Road of close to 70km is ongoing. It has reached Ohafia big time and is now at Old Soldier Junction and still moving.
We have not talked about ongoing interventions in health and power. Let me not bother you with those ones.
The problem with my friend, Kalu is that he lives in Abuja and visits Ohafia once in a long while. That’s why he doesn’t know that these projects exist.
My man, please don’t resign. Don’t step down. Remain in the race. I want you to have in your CV that you were once a Gubernatorial Candidate of a major party. That will be a major achievement. That is, if you survive the impending onslaught by Agu Ibeku.
As my man from way back, being a governorship candidate is big deal. This is also what I say to my man, Dr Kelechi Anosike of the PDP. I don’t want my men to lose out completely. At least, let your CVs be enriched. No one knows tomorrow.
But to thine own self be true, Kalu. Don’t stretch this thing too far. I don’t know what is giving you the “liver” to think that you stand any chance against Governor Alex Otti. Nwanne, na waa o!
