2027: TRADITIONAL RULERS, PRIME MINISTERS, SUPPORT GROUPS RALLY BEHIND OTTI, AGUOCHA
The political temperature in Abia is gradually rising ahead of the 2027 General Elections, and Ikwuano, Umuahia North and Umuahia South are becoming a major talking point.
Recall that in June this year, traditional rulers across the three Local Government Areas, at separate consultation meetings held in their various LGAs, adopted Governor Alex Otti and Distinguished Hon. Obi Aguocha MHR, pledging their full support for the re-election of the duo.
Now, the Traditional Prime Ministers across the same three LGAs have followed suit.
At separate consultation and adoption meetings held in their respective Local Government Areas, the Traditional Prime Ministers also adopted Governor Otti and Distinguished Hon. Obi Aguocha for the 2027 elections and pledged their support for their re-election.
And it does not end there.
Political support groups, community stakeholders and religious bodies have also continued to publicly identify with the re-election bids of the Governor and the federal lawmaker.
Supporters say the growing endorsements are a reflection of what they describe as purposeful leadership, visible development and effective representation under the Labour Party led administration.
For them, the message is becoming increasingly clear: CONTINUITY.
And that has given rise to a popular slogan among supporters:
“NO VACANCY IN 2027!”
While the election remains ahead and the final decision belongs to the electorate, the successive endorsements are already generating serious political conversations across Abia.
From the traditional rulers to the Traditional Prime Ministers, political support groups and faith based stakeholders, the support being publicly expressed for Otti and Aguocha is becoming one of the talking points of the emerging 2027 political season.
For Distinguished Hon. Obi Aguocha, the endorsements come with an even greater responsibility.
The lawmaker has expressed appreciation to the traditional institutions and other stakeholders for their confidence, stressing that every endorsement is a renewed call to service.
As 2027 approaches, one thing is certain.
The political conversation has started. And in Ikwuano, Umuahia North and Umuahia South, the NO VACANCY slogan is already making waves.
