ALEX OTTI’S POLITICS 101 IN OHAFIA LGA, TOWARDS GETTING IT RIGHT.

The Labour Party by its latest press release of timetable for conducting the party primary election on Wednesday the 2nd of October from the new acting State Chairman, Hon. Emmanuel Nweze Oti, seems to have suddenly woken up to its responsibility as the ruling Party in the State. We should be very careful too, concerning other parallel releases being strayed into the process by rogue elements or impostors claiming to be Labour Party. We have only one Labour Party today headed and promoted by Dr. Alex Otti and Peter Obi as its undisputed national leaders.

We have seen strings of executive orders being dished out at the Party level to put everyone on notice that the state government led by Dr. Alex Otti is right on the driver’s seat to navigate the process of a New Abia LGA to conurbate the New Abia State. This is politics 101 at its best and the cardinal objective is to placate the best administrative practices at our grassroots levels under the New Abia catholicon. When you hear that politics is local, this is where it is started.

Let me quickly thank Governor Alex Otti for being a listening leader who leads from the front and not caring who’s ox is breached. He responded quickly and timely too to our last call on him to avoid primordial sentiments of politics of political correctness, clan equalization politics, robbing Peter to pay Paul politics, politics of sequestration, politics of compensation of friends and allies, prebendal politricks, mercantilism politics, in making a choice at the LGA but should opt for building bridges of consensus and politics of reward based on voting capacity and ideological followership. Ohafia has been with Alex Otti since 2015.

Our last piece captioned Alex Otti’s Political Alchemy for Ohafia LGA, was apt and unambiguous in recognizing the fact that the Nov. 02 LGA election events is not mutually exclusive to his 2027 reelection bid. To make mistake and not get it right would be catastrophic. 2027 Abia politics will be Alex Otti versus other political parties. Knowing this fact will bring a lot of peace.

The Labour Party decision last weekend to relegate the prebendal and often times ebullient mayoral offices from participating in the newly announced dispensation for LGA election is one of the fallout of our last but timely call on Alex Otti to be intentional and deliberate in getting it right at our LGAs. The decision not to endorse the existing mayors is one that must be celebrated as one of Alex Otti’s pragmatic political behavior that relies heavily on feedback as a good governance working tool. Let us arise and clap for Jesus, as one of my pen friend would say, for having a governor that listens.

Now to process the next local government Chairman for Ohafia, stakeholders are given the opportunity to choose a leader that will work for the people, that will be less controversial, less power hungry, less power drunk, an ideological follower of Alex Otti and the New Abia, someone who’s track records resonates and ranks high with the people, a person with rich political tapestry, chemistry and history, an amiable personality, a person of conclave personage, a home made Ohafia mystique, and also an educationally updated personality. I will tell you who fits into all these utopian characteristics at inbox.

Ohafia, always knows how to choose good leaders. They trooped out in 2023 in massive strength to throw their voting weight and capacity behind Alex Otti and that decision is showing today with unmatchable results. Ohafia will true to type line up behind Dr. Alex Otti again with its massive voter population of 200,000 registered voters by 2027 if the decision at the local government election in Nov. 02, 2024 looks right to them. This may be a delicate moment to toy with the emotions of Udumaeze scion. Ohafia will support the best for the primaries of the Labour Party and for the LGA election come Nov. 02, 2024. Let me also add that with the planned withdrawal of both APC and PDP from the LG race, the coast is clear for an all Labour Party elected LG chairpersons come November 2nd, 2024. So help us God.

Dr. Engr Odo Ijere,
Okpotemba Ohafia.
