Abia PDP and the tragedy of collective amnesia…

By. Dodoh Okafor
It is laughable to see former PDP party officials and apologists talk about things like the welfare of Abians, workers salaries and pension for retirees as if they care…

They may want us to forget but it is important to say it everyday that as at the time Okezie Ikpeazu and his gang of impostors and usurpers left officer on May 29 2023:

  1. More than 40 months was owed the State’s retirees in pension arrears.
  2. More than 18 billion was owed in accumulated salaries to employees of the State Government across various government establishments including the Abia State University, College of Education Technical Arochukwu, Abia Polytechnic Aba, Hospital Management Board, and others.
  3. Port Harcourt Road Aba was abandoned after sinking about 10 billion naira on the project between 2017 and 2023.
  4. EVERY MAJOR STREET IN ABA AND UMUAHIA had tons of refuse heaps, making it impossible for residents, commuters and passers-by to literally take in air to their lungs.

  1. There was not 1 kilometre of good road built by the Ikpeazu government that was standing as at the time he was leaving in disgrace. Recall that he was rejected by his kinsmen who insisted that he must never retire to the Senate.
  2. Umunneochi and parts of Isuikwuato LGA were taken over by kidnappers, armed robbers, rapists and local and foreign criminals who made life unbearable for our people.

So for a party with this odious record, what moral right do they have even say a word in public?
